Scripture Focus:
2 Kings 6:16-17 (NIV) — “Don’t be afraid… Those who are with us are more than those who are with them… Then Elisha prayed, ‘Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.’ And the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
It’s easy to let worry take over. Our minds so often replay worst-case scenarios, and we imagine problems growing bigger than they are. That’s what happened to Elisha’s servant—he saw danger and felt completely alone.
Elisha responded differently because he knew God was already present and in control. When Elisha prayed, God opened the servant’s eyes. Suddenly, what had seemed overwhelming became small in comparison to the reality of God’s presence. The threat hadn’t disappeared, but the servant could see what was always true: God’s power and protection surrounded them.
Walking with God, and knowing that He isn’t worried, doesn’t mean life suddenly feels easy or free of challenges. It means your heart can stay steady, even when circumstances are uncertain. It means you don’t have to manufacture courage or silence your fears. You can trust that God is working, even when you can’t see the full picture.
This is the good news: worry doesn’t have to drive your decisions or control your perspective. You can keep moving forward, acting faithfully, and living fully because God holds it all and is already there—and He isn’t worried.

Pay attention this week when worry starts to take over your thoughts. Pause and ask God to open your eyes to His presence in that situation. Notice the ways He is already at work, and let that truth steady your heart.
