I remember hearing the word “doppelganger” for the first time several years ago. “Doppel what?” I thought. Even the sound of the word was funny to me. Someone turned to the person beside me and said, “You have a doppelganger!” Then they went on to share photos with them with such excitement and explain how they know their doppelganger.
What on earth is a doppelganger? I had to research to find out. Google told me all about doppelgangers and how they are “look-alikes” or people who have facial features or mannerisms just like someone else. Doppelgangers are almost like a person’s twin outside of their family. Supposedly, in some cases, studies have found that a person’s doppelganger may even share similar DNA like bone structure, or nose shape and size, or placement and color of eyes, even though there is not a family or gene connection.
Have you ever had someone tell you that you have a doppelganger, or have you heard someone refer to a doppelganger? It’s an intriguing concept to say the least.
