Psalm 77:11–12 “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember Your miracles of long ago. I will consider all Your works and meditate on all Your mighty deeds.” (NIV)
When life moves fast, it’s easy to forget.
We forget the prayers God already answered.
We forget the ways He’s provided when we had nothing.
We forget that the same God who was faithful then is still faithful now.
But Scripture invites us to stop and remember.
Throughout the Bible, God built rhythms of remembrance into His people’s lives—festivals, songs, and stories passed from one generation to the next. Each one whispered the same truth: Don’t forget who God is or what He’s done. Because when we remember His faithfulness, our hearts find courage to trust Him again.
As Forge approaches our 40th anniversary next year, that’s part of what this season is about—remembering. Looking back at nearly 40 years of God’s goodness and realizing: He’s been writing this story all along. Every life changed, every disciple sent, every nation reached: it all points to a God who is always and forever faithful.
And here’s the amazing thing: remembering doesn’t keep us stuck in the past. It launches us forward.
When we stop to see how faithful God has been, faith begins to rise again. Gratitude becomes fuel. Worship becomes movement. Suddenly, we find ourselves ready to step out again: to give, to go, to obey, to trust—because we’ve seen what He can do.
Maybe that’s what you need this week: a reminder that the God who carried you this far isn’t done yet. The same power that split seas, opened doors, and changed hearts before is still moving today.
So, let’s remember, not as an act of nostalgia, but as an act of faith. Let’s look back, not to stay there, but to step boldly into what’s next.
Because God’s faithfulness doesn’t just anchor us.
It moves us.
