Fire Up The Grille

June 19, 2025

Forge Speaker Mick Veach gave an update from Calvary Baptist Church just outside Toronto, where he participated in their long-running “Fire Up the Grille” outreach—a car show and evangelistic event that’s been held for 16 years.

This year, over 4,000 people attended, with breakfast and various ministry stations following the show. Mick had the opportunity to preach, sharing a message about “becoming water walkers” and living life on purpose. While exact numbers are hard to pin down, Mick estimated that between 15 to 30 people made first-time decisions for Christ, and over 1,000 made commitments to live intentionally for Him. “Praise God for that,” he said, expressing gratitude for the church’s continued impact and the speakers who have poured into this community over the years. Thank you for praying—it’s clear God is at work!

Hey, this is Mick just giving a quick update from yesterday. I was at Calvary Baptist Church in Toronto or just outside and we’ve been there every year for a bit, so we have a great tradition. So shout out to Forge and their continual impact upon this church and I believe it’s going to continue and hopeful that we can send some more speakers there.

It’s just a one and done. That’s the nice thing about it. And as a result of being there we were involved in a car outreach, a car show on their parking lot which they’ve done for 16 years in a row. This year they had over 4,000 present and had various venues that stayed after a breakfast.

I spoke and it was hard to tell about decisions but it’d be fair to say there were about 15-30 first time decisions for Christ and probably over a thousand decisions to live life on purpose, becoming water walkers as I preached. Praise God for that. Really grateful for that church and for all the guys that have spoken there in years past.

Looking forward to what’s going to happen in the years ahead. Praise God.
