Have you ever carried a worry so small it feels almost silly to pray about? Maybe it’s a quiet fear that follows you through the day, a repeated frustration, or a difficult choice. We often think God only cares about the big, dramatic moments—our purpose, our calling, or the major breakthroughs in our lives. Often though, the smallest prayers are exactly where God is at work.
Elijah knew this. On Mount Carmel, he faced a moment no one could ignore. He challenged the prophets of Baal to prove whose god was real, and when he prayed, God sent fire from heaven to consume the offering. But before that extraordinary moment, Elijah spent long, ordinary days walking, praying, and waiting on God’s timing. Even in the small, quiet moments, God was shaping his faith and preparing him for what was to come.
We are called to walk with God in the same way. Bringing small questions and struggles to Him is not a burden; it is a way of trusting God more and more. Sometimes He answers with a clear yes. Sometimes He gives guidance. And often the small, ordinary moments prepare us for challenges we cannot yet see.
No prayer is too small. God is at work even in the quiet worries you almost forget to pray about and the repeated decisions you make, turning these ordinary moments into extraordinary opportunities.
