Spirit of God Filled the Room

August 21, 2025

Forge Speaker Dwight Robertson shared a powerful report from his time speaking at One Life Church, where the Spirit of God clearly filled the room.

Before the service, Dwight felt impressed to pray that lives would be like matches—struck and lit on fire—and that the prayers of the saints would undergird the moment. He later said, “I sensed the magnificent undergirding and the kind of glory of God in the room.” Throughout both services, people were visibly moved—crying, leaning forward, fully engaged. “It was as though I was simply the frame,” Dwight said. “Jesus was the one doing the teaching.” The response was immediate and personal. One man, recently freed from demonic bondage, asked how to reach his five unsaved friends. A woman said, “I want to multiply what you taught us today,” and was directed to Forge’s Multiplying Movements discipleship course. Another man, in tears, said, “I want three books—one for me, my wife, and each of my kids. I’m going to take other men through this.” One woman summarized it best: “I almost said it was a great message—but I’m going to tell you, it was a great commissioning.” God is raising up more Kingdom Laborers—and this church was lit with fresh fire. Thank you for praying!

When I sat down before speaking at One Life Church, this is Dwight Roberts. I found God telling me—seemed like two things He was impressing upon my heart. One was: pray that lives will be like a match, striking and lit on fire this morning. I had two services to speak for. The other thing I felt like He was saying is: you need to know how powerful the prayers of the saints are for moments like these. Their crowns will be magnificent in heaven. And I almost felt like, you know, my crown will be dwarfed comparatively.

No wonder the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. They were seeing all the things that were happening as a result of His prayer life. And I sensed yesterday—the magnificent undergirding and the shining glory of God in the room.

My wife was with me, and she was seated at an angle on the front row, able to see over the arching crowd. She said afterward, “Honey, could you see how many people literally were on the edge of their seats? Men on the edge of their seats. People crying through the message. It was as though I was just simply the frame—Jesus was inhabiting me and doing the teaching.”

And I felt it at different moments—like He’s their Teacher. He’s the one calling them. And their response was so immediate, so quick.

The conversations we had afterward confirmed this. I remember one guy came up to me and said, “I haven’t known Jesus very long. I had five demons. I came to this church, they prayed over me. I have five people in my life—close friends—that I want to see come to know Jesus. You just helped me know what to do next.”

One woman, an African-American woman who was very eloquent, said, “I want to multiply what you taught us today. How do I multiply? What can I do?” I was able to immediately direct her—put in her hands a link to our discipleship course called Multiplying Movements. I explained, “It’s 12 video lessons that are taught. You can meet with people and then discuss these things, make sure they’re processing accurately, and then engage and live this life of kingdom laborership.”

Another man came up to me and said, “I want three books—here’s my wife, my three kids—and I’m going to take other men through this.” He was just crying.

Before she left, one woman said, “I almost said it was a great message, but I’m going to tell you—it was a great commissioning.” We were commissioned today.

And one person said, “I can’t wait to get out there and do it.” Hallelujah.
