Scripture Focus:
Mark 5:30 (NIV) — “At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from Him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, ‘Who touched my clothes?'”
Jesus had a clear mission. A synagogue leader named Jairus had begged Him to come heal his dying daughter, and Jesus was on the way. Every minute mattered. Then, in the middle of it all, a woman reached through the crowd, and the moment she touched Him, she was healed. Jesus stopped. He didn’t rush past her toward the “more important” situation or treat her like a delay. He turned, saw her, and gave her His full attention.
From the outside, it looked like an interruption. But to Jesus, it was ministry.
It’s easy to live with a sense of purpose and still miss what God is doing right in front of us. We fill our days with good things, meaningful things, even God-centered things, and yet we can become so focused on where we’re going that we overlook who God is placing in our path. Jesus moved with intention, but He was always interruptible. People were never distractions to Him; they were the reason He came. The same is true for us.
Think about the conversation that slows you down, the child who needs more of your attention than you planned to give, or the moment you didn’t schedule but can’t quite shake. What if those aren’t interruptions to your calling? What if they are part of it? Being a Kingdom Laborer doesn’t only happen in the moments we plan; it happens in the ones we didn’t see coming.
Maybe as summer is coming, your routines are shifting and life feels a little less predictable. Pay attention to what breaks into your day. Not every interruption is yours to carry, but some of them are invitations—to notice, to pause, to care, and to reflect the heart of Jesus in a way that doesn’t fit neatly into your schedule.

This week, pay attention to the interruptions in your day. Ask God to help you see which ones are invitations to slow down and love the person right in front of you.
