Seeking wisdom is urgent! Proverbs 4:5-7 urges us to “Get wisdom! Get understanding. Don’t turn away from God’s words. Love wisdom, and she will guard you.”

In Part 1, we learned if you want wisdom, it starts with a humble and attentive heart. You can cultivate a listening heart by slowing down, being open, and prioritizing God.

But truly pursuing wisdom requires sacrifice. It may cost you:

  • Time
  • Pride
  • Worldly Ambitions

What are you willing to give up to gain God’s wisdom? Are you willing to surrender everything? True life comes from pursuing God’s wisdom, no matter the cost.

Wisdom Provides a Quality of Life

Wisdom leads to a fulfilling life. Proverbs 4:6 says, “Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you.” Wisdom guides and protects us.

  • Proverbs 4:12: “When you walk, your step will not be hampered, and if you run, you will not stumble.”
  • Proverbs 4:13: “Keep hold of instruction; do not let go. Guard her, for she is your life.”
  • Proverbs 3:18: “Wisdom is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.”

God’s wisdom illuminates our way. It keeps us safe and steady. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
